![]() Thank you for watching my quick tutorials and if you have other questions, let me know in the comments and subscribe to my channel for more videos like this, that show you quick tips for Camtasia. So this is how you extend the frame in a clip in Camtasia. So if I play my video now, you will see when it gets around to that point where I created my extend frame, the video will freeze and for three seconds it's going to stay there and then continue playback. If I move it, it's going to move with it, but you can see these indications to show that there's been a stitch and a cut. ![]() So now you can zoom in and see that my clip has this, these little cuts here. You can use these arrows to adjust the duration up and down and click OK. Let's say I wanted to stay still for three seconds, type 3 in here. Or I can just press Shift + E and then Camtasia is going to ask me how long do I want that frame to stay still until the video resumes playback. ![]() More importantly, since freeze frames are applied on a per track basis, it buys you more. So all I have to do is just click on the clip, right-click on the play head or on the clip and say Extend Frame. Extending or freezing a frame allows you to pace your video better. In Adobe Premiere Pro (see attached 10-second video) you can see 3 moments of lag/freeze in a 10 second video (1) mouse is left behind in 2nd second, (2) mouse lagg in the seventh second when I click on the Layout tab, (3) extra shadow / black rectangular shape when clicking the margins drop down menu in the ninth second. Once you're on the right frame, open the Edit menu or right-click on the clip and select Insert Freeze Frame from the context menu. To skip by precisely one frame at a time, use the Previous frame and Next frame buttons under the player. I have a video clip on my timeline here, and if I scrub with my play head here, I want to freeze the action right here for a few seconds. Hi Jeff, Ok, my first two options did not work. Move the position marker over the frame of the video that you want to freeze. I'm using Camtasia 2021, and if you want to create a still frame or a freeze frame for a number of seconds, this is how you do it. Let me show you how you can extend a frame in Camtasia.
